A study involving humans, however, also proved that IF can be beneficial. It found that those who tried IF were able to reduce their blood pressure when they ate enough calories to prevent weight loss. Researchers have also noted that IF may help improve your body’s insulin sensitivity (a.k.a. its response to sugar). In other words, even if you do not lose any weight from intermittent fasting, other health benefits can be derived from this strategy.

Even though you don’t have to change the way you eat, IF might be challenging. It could take a bit of time to get used to this way of eating, so be patient. Choose 8 hours of the day during which you’ll eat (the remaining 16 hours of the day will be spent fasting). So, for example, you might choose to start eating at noon and then start fasting against at 8 p.m. It’s up to you.
